Rock and Roll is Here to Stay!

Charli's spring music program was today at Elliott, and Rock and Roll is Here to Stay was the theme. Each class covered a decade in rock history, and I think Mrs. England gave the 3rd graders a key piece of it. They're pretty musical.

They followed the kindergartners intro to the 50s with the story of Big Bopper, Ritchie Valens and Buddy Holly, completed by a shortened version of Don McClean's American Pie. They were awesome.

Photos follow.

What did the kids do for American Pie?

They sang the opening part, seated on the risers. Then once they got to the chorus they stood and did a little movement. They didn't sing much else beyond the chorus.

Very cute! I wish I could have seen it! Too bad they have the programs during the day at Griswold. But I'd have missed it this time anyway because we were in Denver babysitting Zach and Avi.
Tell Charlie she looked very much the part! Jan
