So this is the new flame, a long-legged black haired beauty with a French name and Chinese and American parents.
It has a nice riding steel frame and a flip-flop hub. Very classy in black and silver.
Motobecane, a fine old French scooter (moto) and bicycle (becane) maker that went bankrupt. The name is owned by bikesdirect.com which imports bikes to their specification from Taiwan and China.
I replaced the drop bars with a flat bar and my favorite Ergon grips and bar ends.
The final? bit of bling for the new girl will be pedals, old school silver road pedals with half clips.
I rode to the gym and back with the wheel turned to the fixed gear side (no coasting, the pedals always turn) with no major mishaps, so there it will stay.
A final note, a sad goodbye to the old bike, the yellow road bike, that was stolen two weeks ago today from the front of building at work. Damn!

How do you plan to secure your new ride?
Well it's not going to be parked in front of Best Buy....
Other than that, I will just continue to use a medium weight combination lock. Yes with the right tools it can be broken in under 10 seconds, but I refuse to ride around with 15lbs of locks and cables.
If I find you riding my bike, my advice is get off and RUN!
Niceness.
