Finally fall ends

OK, so we've been enjoying the longest, loveliest fall I can remember at the farm in several years. Some of the trees still have leaves of yellow, orange and red. Green grass still shows on pasture. Of course the gold of harvested fields, punctuated with brown spots and stripes, cloak the hills.

But today, I'd say it's officially over. Cold languishing rain mixed with occasional snowflakes and Pooh's "blustery day" have brought it to an end.

Wait a minute . . . I think the Pine Box Preachers are playin' tonight. That must be it. They never schlep their instruments out unless conditions are craptacular.

Happy day, everyone!
