Interior work

After Sept. 18, the final work was on the interior and mostly in the new entry, preparing the new walls for paint and adding trim.  Some electrical work continued as well.  At the end of that week, we began moving things into the basement so we can clean and organize elsewhere.  Photos follow.

This space is where the old basement steps were; you can see where they sheetrocked over the door.  Once cleaned, painted and reconfigured with shelves, it will be a pantry.

The new entry now has trim.  That's the top of the front door below the third window.

I love the view from the windows!

Looking back toward the kitchen window.

The view looking west . . .

We decided to try some art out on the new ledge above the basement steps.

Next to the front door, too.

From a different angle . . .

Down the basement steps . . .

Curt's new studio

We'll move a bed down here for guests and put curtains around this space for privacy.  The current plan is to treat the basement space as an open loft space with limited walls around the bathroom and utility spaces.

Speaking of utilities, this is my new laundry area.

Another shot of Curt's studio; his drawing table is against the north wall.

I already need to take more photos, as we began painting this weekend.  The siding on the new entry has been primed, and we painted the first floor bathroom.  Good-bye pink!  We'll keep posting as we work our way through all our DIY projects.

Any plans to fir out the basement, adding an 1" of styro-foam insulation to the walls?

Looking Good, nice pottery BTW!
