September 3-5

Work is proceeding quickly to get us back in with the utilities we need.  Everybody but the roofers have been in and out this week to get water, electric and sanitation live.  In addition, the HVAC contractor is installing the ductwork, furnace and AC.

You can see where the new water line has been run.

Walls and windows, plus the roof frame on the new mud room

View from the south -- progress!

The new furnace

And the new cold air return

Materials left to continue the work on Wednesday

Where the chimney used to be . . .

Bill and Tom begin to put siding over the old basement doorway.

Wednesday morning, work continues on the mud room roof.

The mud room roof is tricky; I've been watching how they're doing it.

Work is well underway on the front porch steps.

As of lunchtime Wednesday . . .
Tomorrow, whether they're ready or not, we'll be back home, when the cleaning (Lord help me!) begins.

Are the porch post 6x6 or 8x8. They look pretty substantial? David

I think they're 6x6, but haven't measured to be sure. And yes they are substantial. The joists are 12x2s according to Curtis. It is one solid porch.
