More about Uncle Bud

I did call Uncle Bud Sunday. He and Dolores are taking a Motel Tues. night so they'll be able to get a decent night's rest before Uncle Bud flies out on Wednesday morning early. They are also staying in the Motel on Wed. night. Dolores is not flying with him but will find things to do in Omaha and Council Bluffs all day Wed. (And you know Dolores knows how to find her way around the Big O!) They will get back around 10:30 P.M. or 11:00 P.M. The suggestion was made to all the Vets that they make arrangements for 2 overnights - they are paying out of their
own pockets for that. Bud & Dolores said they have been told by Vets who went on the earlier trip that they will not have to do much walking, tho'it will still be pretty strenuous. Uncle Bud is
very excited about it tho' Tues. they are having a dinner and ceremony in Council Bluffs to send off the group. 4 are going from Montgomery County and they will be joined by other Vets from SW Iowa.
And Dolores gave me another piece of information that I want to pass on to all of you. In Emerson a WWII Veterans Memorial was recently set up in the City Park there. It has our Dad's name on it together with Uncle Bud's. I will get over there soon and photograph it so you all can see it. I was totally surprised to hear about it. And I don't suppose that any of you knew about it either. Jan
