Carpentry & Electric

On Wednesday, carpentry really got underway.  Additionally, our electrician began his work by running the new line to the house underground.

Curt, Charli and I went by last night to view the progress and grab a few items we need.  I also prepared a litter box and bowls to bring Charli's cat, Dot, home.  She needs more space to stretch her legs!  It was Charli's first time back in the house since she left on June 24th. So, she hadn't seen the chimney space opened up to prepare for the HVAC.

Charli exploring the basement.  You can see the sump pit in the NE corner.

Curt standing by the egress window in the SE corner.

Framing for the basement bathroom (with the doorway) and utility room for the furnace, etc.

Charli made sure to inspect everything.

This ladder is standing in what will be our storm room; I'm looking forward to a more secure place during tornado season.

We should have steps to replace the ladder by Thursday night.

Charli found the chimney space fascinating.  This is in the red room upstairs . . .

. . . and looking up toward the attic.
I was told they'd have the walls in the basement completed, most of the walls on the mud room and the windows in by this evening.  We'll keep you posted!

What about new floor joists where the old stairway used to be?
