After nearly four inches rain Saturday, work got off to a slow start this week. So I thought I'd begin with a crop report for David. Pictures speak louder than words.
Carpenters are working on framing up the entries, basement utility and bathroom walls. Once that's far enough along our electrician will begin. We're hoping it goes quickly!

You can see them starting work on the mud room (formerly back porch) deck.

This is where the new doorway and basement steps will be.

Looking down into the basement where the stairs will be built.

They got the house nailed down to the foundation before the weekend rains.

Hoping to go by tonight to see today's progress. I was promised a mud room floor and some walls in the basement!

While pictures speak loader than words, one might wonder if the ear of corn pictured is an average ear or one of the worst. No soybeans pods were pictured so I assume the soybeans did not pod.

I also have some questions regarding the new entrance or mud room.
David
On the corn, Curt said the field had a variety -- some stalks with nothing and some that looked full size in addition to the small ones pictured.
Regarding beans, according to Don and George, there are pods, but to fill out we needed rain. George told me rain might help as long as the beans weren't turning yet. Ours are not yet yellow like Charlene's across the road.
Regarding the mud room, what do you want to know?
