Day 14 -- Foundation!

Per George Karwal and Bill Rounds, we were assured concrete foundation walls were poured on Thursday.  According to Bill, the pumper truck was "massive."  Thanks to him, we once again have great photos of the process.

The concrete truck and pumper are ready to roll.

The concrete truck dumps the first load.

The first load continues.

A view from the east shows the pumper's massive reach.

This view shows the northeast basement forms.

Northwest corner forms complete.

Pouring the northeast basement walls; you can see the pumper snaking down the corner of the house.

Pouring the new basement walls for the south porch/mud room.

And a straight on view -- the old basement did NOT extend under the porch, so that's new.

. . . and over the house.

The view from the end of the driveway.

This shot was taken from the southwest corner of the farmyard about where the old elm tree stood.

The concreters setting the anchor straps.

Another view of the pumper from the driveway.

Foundation complete.  Now, we wait.
