Day 4 was crazy! Carpenters continued work on the chimney demolition while the plumbing, electrical and HVAC subcontractors moved in to disconnect and remove things in preparation for the house lift next week. Our plumber was first in and out, making pretty short work of his piece of it. By 10 a.m., we were without water/plumbing.
Likewise, the HVAC team had the furnace, AC and ductwork out PDQ. The interesting note on that is that one of Curt's form XC runners, Travis McAlpin works for the HVAC sub. Years ago when he came out to run with Curt and another runner, Dani Wagaman, we were discussing the need for a new foundation. Travis commented about that being a pretty big deal. Oh the irony when he turned up Thursday morning!
Last was the electrician, who came in later and was the last to turn off and pull connections. He completed his work after I left for the day. Also the carpenters were furiously trying to get the chimney out through the dining room floor. They'd revised their plans to let the house mover demolish the basement level chimney when he excavates the basement. I think they were pretty glad to get through to the basement about 3 p.m.

| Day 4 progress on the chimney in the upstairs bedroom. They were thrilled to finally clear the second floor. |
| I came through the door just as they were breaking into the dining room. |
| You can see they've drained and disconnected all they appliances in the basement in preparation to move them out for the house lift. This will be the carpenters last work for the week. |
| Curt and I cleared this room out, but now even the furnace is gone. |
