OK, we are finally within sight of major renovations to Paul and Charlotte's house. I am eating creatively to clear out the freezer and refrigerator in my final days in the house before they move in to disconnect everything and hoist it.
Work is scheduled to take 66 days once they start, which will be next Monday. I'll be here to photograph the beginning of the work and will be posting progress updates. L, L & T, if you drive out to see the house, it'll be hoisted while the new foundation cures.
The house will end up with a new poured concrete foundation and basement, new HVAC that includes the upstairs (come visit any time and you'll be comfortable) and a new roof and covered gutters. I can't quite imagine it.
FYI, I ran a radon test just before we got the final scope of work laid out and confirmed the house (test was done in the basement main dirt-floor room) has a problem with it. So in addition to the new foundation, we're putting in a radon mitigation system. I'm sure that's been in the back of all our minds, and thanks go to Uncle Bud, Pastor Bob and Jim Campbell for keeping it in my mind.
Look for more as things progress . . .
