Day 5 was mostly about the final preparations for lifting the house next week. Carpenters worked furiously to brace the porch roofs and clear the basement. They had hoped to have time to take the back porch roof off, as it will be entirely rebuilt, but were running up against the deadline.
The electrician came in to finish their work in the house, then set up temporary power to the outbuildings. They are working with our well man to establish temporary water for the cattle on the farm and the contractors working the next few weeks.
I have been pretty happy with the way they have cleaned up and secured the place at the end of each day. And so far, knock on wood, they've kept to the schedule.

| Back porch floor is now gone. |
| Note the electrical lines are completely off the house. |
| The front porch is braced for the lift. |
| The chimney is now gone through the dining room floor! Bring on the new HVAC to first and second floors! |
| Not much to see under the back porch . . . |
| It's starting to look a little barren. |
| With both porches braced, everything disconnected and all the entries secured, they are ready to lift. |

Our house movers are from Forest City, so we're expecting the next phase to begin Monday afternoon. Tuesday could be an exciting day, so I'll be continuing to post. Please feel free to comment y'all!
