If it's written communication, I'm on board, too!

Ok, like usual I learned about this blog by walking past the computer and looking over Ike's shoulder. And I'd lay odds, that among the family adults, I'll be out here posting more frequently than anybody. But we'll see.

I can't say there is a lot of general interest happening right now. Crops finally look nearly normal; farmers are spraying for aphids like crazy. For August, it's pretty green in Iowa. We're seeing grasshoppers, which is normal, too.

I'm counting down the days until everyone is back at school. Much as I love Ike, living with him challenges me with his night owl schedule -- exactly opposite mine. And there is such a thing as too much togetherness. With everyone back in school, I'll have more time and space to myself -- both things I need.

Since I'm here on the homestead, I'll try to post the occasional photo of the place. And I'll save my political rants and art for my personal blog at limnerslines.blogspot.com. FYI, there are a couple of new needleworks out, and there will be more soon. Please check it out.

That's it for this post. I want to get back to the kitchen where they're rolling up tamales. Ike requested them before we take him back to college. I have rice to make too. I expect we'll all be in a lethargic semi-coma after dinner.

Until later,
Cherie

Ike,

Do you ever feel unwanted?
