We got Lydia off to Switzerland early Wed morning. This is our good-bye at Oakland International Airport. It has definitely been quieter around here. We received an e-mail yesterday advising she was in Lugano now and located midway between the campus and downtown. She will have one roommate who hadn't yet arrived. Unfortunately she did not take any bedding, thinking she would purchase upon arrival at the local Ikea store. Well, they have apparently kept them busy so she won't be able to do any shopping until next week. Also, she got the wrong converter/adapter for Switzerland and was running low on computer battery power. Hopefully, she will find some time to add to this on her own once she has achieved full battery capability.
Laura, thanks so much for the photos. The kids have definitely changed since I last saw photos.
Good to know that Daniel is now getting settled in. Jan, keep us updated on what the empty nest is like for you and Hertzel.
